Does anyone else get this vibe from "progressives"?
I'm engaging in a gross generalization and I know it, especially since most of my IRL friends/coworkers would be considered to have "progressive" politics and generally don't act this way, but would you agree that there is a certain Debbie Downer type of progressive? The type of progressive who has no life outside of politics, and can't find joy in anything because there's always some type of "exploitation" going on?

compared with the high spirits and optimism of the tea partyers?
its a basic psychological mechanism, the idea of "looming disaster", we all suffer from it. If its not a political thing for you, it is something else.
