Got a degree in Business with minor in marketing/sales.
Now work for a inside sales firm of high-end home crap.Make decent money though.
Oh really?
I may be interested in purchasing things.
Do you sell the massage chairs or Home Theater items like sound panelsf?
To keep from getting in trouble from the mods, PM me details. I am looking to put together a home theater and my budget is $20,000 or less. The room will be 20x15, the sound system will be 7.1 or 7.2.
As stated earlier, I also want a decent massage chair, but I don't want to spend $5000 on one. Between $1000-$2000 is about my range.

Yes. I do go to uni to learn, but if I'm being honest, my parents would not accept my not going to college.
Originally posted by dadudemonSorry home crap is misleading. It's more like home hardware, like triple layer locks, gold plated door knockers/handles, very expensive tubs, and appliances.

At least your parents care. My dad always resented the fact that I decided to prioritize physics over economical mathematics and the fact that I rejected a summer job offer in logistics he helped me get didn't make it better.
Lol, "No son of mine will learn this pop drivel called Physics!!!"
I get him though..

I was going for graphic design, and in at least one class I actually knew more than my teachers did.
If you think that's bad we only had 1 hour per week with a former professional comic artist, after that we had to fend for ourselves on the creative side at least. There wasn't even a 'concept art' module, which is apparently there now so we did influence things eventually, just not in time for us.

Nothing on concept art or anything of the sort? Wow. One of the classes I took that was helpful was literally called Conceptual Thinking. If you're no good at coming up with initial ideas and concept sketches - and lots of them - you're going to have trouble with your final products, unless you get really lucky and your client always likes your initial idea.

Why or why not?
What did you study?
Did you get a degree? What degree?
Do you think it is useful/important?etc etc coot
Most people pick something they already know at university and then already know it all, or get depressed for failing. Seriously, what ever happened to being multi-capable?
When I was at school everyone said I was going to do Maths before I even got into six form, even me. Oh how life changes.
Tbh, I love my degree. I learn new shit every day that I enjoy and it's piss easy!
Btw Bardock, Film Production is applied Film studies is applied English is applied Language is applied Sociology. Or am I wrong and art doesn't count?

Oh, I have no trouble coming up with concepts it was just the way they didn't teach (or couldn't, with the size of the tutorial groups) the application of your own ideas, leaving the work we had to do very bland really. Dynamic posing, environmental art, character design all of which there was zero specialised modules for.
And, like I said we only had an hour a week with the comic professional, after that it was with tutors who were more 'fine art' focused and they sort of frowned on concept art, leaving us students sort of directionless. Most of us did our own thing anyway, but felt we needed more help than just 'look at this book', because we all have our flaws in some artistic area and no one-on-one help was really there to give us confidence or help increase our overall skill.
I went to college and graduated in 2008 as a Management Assistant (professional bachelor). Having a degree is becoming increasingly important in the job market, where the demand is for skilled and qualified workers. In today’ s world, education is more than ever an absolute necessity. It opens the door to a successful future and provides the means to realize one’ s dreams and ambitions.
