Protesting is a right guaranteed only when done peacefully. Situations like that tend to be very tense. And it's why soldiers used to/still get trained to fire only when ordered to fire. Tension sometimes results in a mistake. If you're so much older than me and wiser, I'd think you'd be able to understand that people get crazy when they're so riled up. Accidents happen, and all it would take is one accidental hit to cause an officer to think he'd been assaulted, or one protestor getting the same and immediately lashing out.

Whether or not he repented is something I don't know for sure. Only God does. But he gets honored by the world at large as this great guy, when in reality he was just another freemason. Just like Ben Franklin, Washington and pretty much the vast majority of our "founding fathers" and presidents. (I falsely said he was on the $5 bill. That's actually Abe Lincoln. My bad)
