He can, Colossus has partially melted a couple of times.
Teams are one mile apart to begin, Johnny can just fly over solo and heat to a few thousand degrees while staying out of projectile range.
Even if there is a "fastball special" all skin, muscle, blood, etc would be gone from Wolverine before he got within 50 yards of Torch, and from distance he would be rediculously easy to dodge.
