I'm having a hearty laugh at people's arguments for why Captain Marvel is not a Superman clone.
I guess I'll create a character that is copy/pasted off Spiderman, only he's a cameraman and slightly different age. Once Marvel implements the cameraman changes to Spiderman (instead of photographer - big leap (😏), right?), I'll have a valid case for why he's not a rip-off, because, well, I guess it makes sense, no?
It's easier to modify an excellent ideea, than to come up with it yourself. It still doesn't make you anything less than a rip-off. 🙂

Captain Marvel is the best Superman clone.Captain Marvel is still awesome as all hell.
clearly. the archetype has been repeated ad naseum. the best ones are the ones who STILL manage to distinguish themselves. not sure if anyone mentioned marvelman. supreme was kinda cool briefly, but got ridiculous. glads was a parody who only recently has started to kind of come into his own. i thought majestic was pretty cool, but, like glads, and even supreme to an extent, they became nearly anti-supermen in terms of personality. hyperion was a pretty weak clone i always thought, very non-descript. i actually liked prime. a little different, but it sort of worked for me. sentry had some promise. not sure he did or ever will live up to it. when the original is so iconic, it's really hard to look at what followed and not see it for what it is. 😬
