They’re all “co-leaders,” leading when the situation calls for it.
DD leads on street stuff. Cage leads on national/Avengers-esque stuff. Kitty leads on galaxy stuff. Shiro leads on anything having to do with Japan, which comes up a lot in all these characters’ stories.
DD - Awareness/Tactician/Lawyer
Kitty - Stealth/Defense/Lockheed
Luke - Muscle/Durability/PR
Sunfire - Flight/Speed/Energy
They're all martial artists.
Whenever they need resources for something like tech they "borrow" from anyone of their respective sources (Cage - Rand/Avengers, Kitty - X-Men/Guardians, Sunfire - Japanese Government, DD - his suit guy)
THE X-FACTOR FOUR
The leader who has been in a long standing relationship with a powerful woman, who has on occasion gone by the name of Malice. Plus both Sue and Lorna can create shields and move objects with their abilities.
So the only chick on the team has a quick tempered brother. Who in this case is her half-brother, Quicksliver.
And their "brick" friend. You know a super strong guy, and super durable type.
Plus they already have a lot of experience working together as part of a team. So you have a couple that's been engaged, a pair of siblings, and the muscle bound friend. Havok is also able to produce hot plasma blasts and absorb heat like Johnny.
