After a spectacle of swordplay and perhaps at least one messy incident involving redirected telekinesis, Vader resorts to clobbering Corran Horn to death with heavy machinery.
The energy absorption business has been overstated dramatically yet again. Yes, Corran is capable of absorbing and emitting energy types including Force-energy and the heat generated by a lightsaber. No, this does not mean he has secured himself against the immensely greater powers of the Sith Lord or that he can block Vader's blade with something other than his own or a piece of the environment; an instance of measured and premeditated interaction with the lightsaber of a cooperative comrade involving just the slightest contact with the blade scorched his hand and brought him to his knees while nearly overloading his focus.
Compare to Vader, who turned the tables and overloaded a lightsaber with his mind.
Corran is a cunning and undeniably badass Jedi Master, but the equal of Darth Vader he is not.
