Space Invaders

Producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Transformers" movies) and Odd Lot Entertainment's Gigi Pritzker have teamed up to bring the classic arcade game Space Invaders to the big screen. Di Bonaventura is also producing the upcoming Asteroids adaptation.

The duo is now searching for a writer to adapt the game, which was designed by Tomohiro Nishikado and released in 1978. The game was later licensed for production in the United States by Midway

I loved the game and i will definitely watch it.

I cant see a story being interesting enough to fill out a feature length movie.

I could make a movie of Space invaders....just need to last about 3 hours and there...it's done

Hell, Monopoly & BattleShips are being made into movies.

Are boardgames the NEW TREND after remakes & reboots?

this, this could work.

just have the standard disaster movie setup with someone discovering an ufo approaching Earth, then have all the world's militaries build giant cannons designed to shoot the aliens out of the sky before they land.

I can just picture the aliens zig zagging across space to the theme song, "You Can't Touch This."
