Considering most of Nova's tricks are gravimetric, and he's up against a character that could at least survive the gravity of a black hole, if not easily, and has greater versatility?

We won't go the high end route on who can tank what because Rider has he's own high end shielding feats. Rider can also absorb or manipulate just about any energy type. Not to mentioned he has the power to bust just about any construct Sinestro throws at him.
