My main fear is that I don't think Dejah Thoris is all that good looking... 😬

I thoroughly disagree. That illustration is a little over-the-top to the point that it looks silly..

The one that shown in the panel's look alot better with the red eyes.

I do kind of like the red eyes, but I think the rest of the design isn't as good.

For the most part, I like what the director approved. Pretty great design all-around. Especially considering that he's having to work within PG-13 boundaries.

That's Lynn Collins, and it's just the one picture of her, she really is very pretty. She's the lady that played in Wolverine. She was Logan's girl.

Well, I never saw the Wolverine movie cuz I could tell from the trailer that it looked like a colossal cow turd, lol, but...

Yeah, she's gorgeous in that picture. I think it's the terrible make-up and body paint. Not sure I approve of those choices. Hopefully she'll come across better in motion. But her beauty is kind of important in the novel. John Carter goes on about how perfect and delightful her curves are... or something like that. lol. She strikes his eye immediately, I think, the first time he sees her. And from the images in the trailers, I'm not getting that feeling.. 😬

Every female character Burroughs wrote about was always volumptous (sp?).
Unfortunately the only woman that comes to mind to fit that would be J-Lo ten years ago.

Unfortunately too, the b*tch can't act either.

lol. You bring up a good point, though: Someone with darker skin might have been able to pull off the body paint 'n such a bit better... kind of a Native American feel or something. Perhaps someone Spanish or South American.

I'm sure Willem Dafoe being in this will make up for a multitude of sins, though. 💃 😐

You got that from the Wolverine movie trailer before it got released......okay then 😬

i know the movie did'nt go so well with critics but yeah.

Watching the trailer again, it doesn't look quite as bad as I remember. It looks fun at least. But I still say it's looks a bit goofy. The jumping up to the helicopter part is a bit much.

They've probably spent an obscene amount of money advertising with the Super Bowl..

I really hope him jumping high isn't like, the staple of his powerset. 😐

Because they show him doing that an awful lot in the trailers. 😐

Read the book. He's from earth, so his physiology is conditioned for heavier gravity, so on Mars he is more powerful than everyone else.

Nice movie!

This is gonna effin' rock...

YouTube video

It looks really boring, imo.

He's just mad they're showing a white-boy that can jump.

Lmao.. 😆

It's not racist to say "white man can't jump," but I bet people would complain if somebody said "black man can't swim."

I like it...

Interesting little read: click

I've seen another picture not for the movie that has some other American Civil War person on mars, Just wondering who he is?
