If he fights the Jade Lord at the caste/temple, he loses horribly. Jade Lord has magic, and he can toss a shower of weapons at him. Only the Monkey King, who himself was a powerful magical immortal was able to beat him.

I never saw the Forbidden Kingdom but if he fought Monkey then he kills Pai.
