As for this fight, all I know is that Blastaar had Namor dead to rights in that "Escape from the Negative Zone" arc with what I believe were energy amped punches. And Namor was bloodlusted at that.

Edit: He was blasting Namor with energy. He only hit him a few times with actual physical blows.

Namor was water deprived and out of his frigging mind in that arc that fact that he did as well as he did against Blastaar in that state is a feat in itself.

I don't recall him being water deprived. Only something about the negative zone itself screwing with his "atlantean physiology", but he certainly didn't seem to suffer a loss of power that I can recall. Besides that I thought his little wet suit kept him hydrayted?

Edit: Yeah you're right. A lack of water did play a part in his behavior.

Namor wins.

Namor was weakened in the Negative Zoe and got worse the longer he stated. It should be noted that his mind went first due to the moisture imbalance.

And if I recall correctly, Namor gave almost as good as he got during that battle. I certainly don't remember it being as one sided as your making it seem.

The wet suit is an "on again, off again" plot related thing. It's there when needed and it's not when it gets in the way of the story.

Prime for sure.

Here's the entire battle with Blaastar:

Like I said, Namor gave as good as he got. The only time Blaastar gained the advantage was when Namor was distracted. Considering that Blaastar can give the big boys a decent scrap and Namor was weakened, it's far from a bad showing.

Even after all that, he managed to do tank Cyclop's all out Optic Blast and punk Hope while she was mimicking his powers.

edit: damn you posted it already

Never said he had a bad showing. What I said was Blastaar had him dead to rights. Nothing you posted contradicts that. If not for Dr. Nemesis bringing in that monster as a distraction Blastaar seemed poised to finish it. Consecutive unanswered attacks and standing over him talking shyte. That's dead to rights in my book.

The distraction stuff works both ways because as you can see they both took turns cheapshotting one another.

Meh, the suit is supposed to hydrate him. But its something that Namor fans can fall back on I guess. Either way the writer seemed to place more emphasis on the insanity issue then any supposed weakening...
