Having to go American to understand that was effort, but yeah, we don't sound like that...even cockneys don't sound like that.

Ahee beleave.... it's softer and more elegant than you make out. We tend to use consonants more and don't stretch our vowels compared to the American accent.

For eg. American = a merry cun. Consonant = cons'nunt.
