Dead or Alive 5

Virtu Fighter lul.

When you said hot blonde from a 3D fighter, I assumed it would be from a franchise that was actually popular lol. Ala Tekken MK or Soul Calibur.

Random unknown girl from VF is a wasted opportunity, imo.

Just because you're not familiar with VF (which is a shame if you're 3D fighting game fan), that doesn't mean it's not popular.

It's not nearly as popular compared to its cousins. That's simply a fact. The fact that it has a following doesn't change that.

That doesn't change the fact that it's still popular, especially in Japan. Even in the US, many fans know that they likely wouldn't get series like Tekken and DOA had it not been for VF.

Also, I don't know why you grouped MK with them. MK is back to 2D now.

So you agree with me then, good. They should have collaborated with a more popular franchise.

Now that we have solidarity, what's the new topic?

So now you're admitting that VF is popular after all. Good.

And no, collaberating with VF is good enough.

Nah, they should have included a character from a franchise that would actually interest the majority of people who play it.

Yeah, like VF.

This will bring more interest to both series so it's a done deal.

Nope. They should have had a Tekken character guest star.

Meh, I either like VF a little more than Tekken or about the same, so I have no problem with it.

I agree, Nina or kazuya would have been badass.

Nope, Virtua Fighter is good enough. Besides, Tekken is going up against Street Fighter anyway.

And that's why Capcom routinely out-sells Virtua Fighter by a hilarious amount.

Wait, what exactly is being debated here?

Akira in DOA? That made this an instant buy! Just think, a Kage-Hayabusa team! So Gdlk

The wisdom from a marketing perspective of adding an obscure guest character from an obscure fighting game series versus including an iconic character from an iconic franchise.

My point is, adding a character like Chun Li or Kazuya would garner much more attention and press for the game, which is the whole point of adding guest characters, then adding some random VF character. No one knows who Sarah Bryant is (in fact if you google the name the first few entries that come up are for something not game related) except for fighting game buffs. Ergo, adding a nobody character is counter-intutive to the goal, which is to draw in new players.

Irrelevant. Besides, you're ignoring the demands for a Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter (which has been more demanded than the Street Fighter/Tekken crossovers).

You should have just stopped right here. Virtua Fighter is "obscure"? 😆

It's clear you don't know what you're talking about. VF is popular. You admitted that, remember?

"Sarah Bryant" is a common name, so of course you're not likely to find exactly what you're looking for...but you're still wrong, because her VF wiki page is certainly to come up. And you're ignoring the fact that she's from a popular 3D fighting game series and is being added along with its mascot Akira Yuki, so she's still on the safe side.

But of course, you don't really know anything about VF so that explains why you're wrong on so many things. VF "obscure"? 😂 Ridiculous

Oh, I agree. Tekken and Street Fighter are more popular than Virtua Fighter. Actually, Dead or Alive is more popular than Virtua Fighter too. I like the game, but VF will gain much more out of this partnership than the other way around.

Why is this up for debate?

That said, don't diss Sarah mafacka. uhuh

👆 I've liked Kage ever since the Sega Saturn days.
