This game looks awesome and all, but sucks that it's not co op. Can't see my self buying it until the price goes down if its just single player.

It might still have Co-op the first one had it.

My friend said they stated it doesn't for this one.

I thought co-op was there via online (PSN/Live).

First one did. This one doesn't.

My only problem with the first one was it needed more colours to play around with for multiplayer.

Good that they thought up a decent story for the Dinobots to be there, The origin from the G1 cartoons would be silly to use.

Yeah it was ridiculous. Cant believe they didn't go with comics version. It made infinitely more sense.
