If the scenario you're implying exists, then there's no way at all to trace them back to him. At all.

In other words, mailed to him...anonymously in an unmarked package that he had the smarts to burn and then clean the CDs.

But, far more often than not, he got it from the interwebz. Ordered or direct dl.

This sounds more like faith stepping in, rather then it being a coincidence that the CDs were found. Some course of action should be taken for the breaking and entering, but nothing to harsh, being that they possibly exposed a future or current pedophile.

There are some criminals dumb enough to report crimes that end up recursively implicating them after all.

It's because being capable of general criminal deliquencies and being capable of a sex crime are worlds apart. Someone who may have no remorse robbing someone wouldn't hesitate to stop or report a predator.

Everyone looks down on sexual predators even murderers. That's why jail's are made up of two primary sections, general population and protective custody for sexual criminals, it let's you know you really are a piece of shit when even the most low bottom criminals who have no problem associating with each other want to beat the shit out of you.
