1 for 1000

Am I the only one who thinks this makes no sense on a pragmatic level?

Or is Israel subtly trying to say that one Israeli is worth hundreds of Palestinians? 😖

Seems legit.

I assume that the Israeli's have many more of the Palestinians imprisoned than the other way around.

This has been the standard exchange for a long time between Israel and her bordering enemies.

Is there an American exchange ratio?

I'm very glad someone asked.

http://www.iraqbodycount.org/

It says the current body count is at least: 102,953

Shows that the number that died in Iraq, by the same time frame, is 4,477.

The exchange rate is this, then: 23 Iraqi's for every American

Of course, that was horribly non-sequitur of me. But it is still an interesting way to respond to your post. 😄

1) the threshold for what is considered a "prisoner"'is probably lower on the Israeli side, also, it is probably harder for the Palestinians to take live hostages

2) there have been a number of instances where the palestinians have arranged such an exchange where they brought the coffins of the dead hostages to the exchange point (afaik, seriously, mega propoganda on both sides, ya?)

So...1 Israeli = about 43.5 Americans?
Or, does 1 Iraqi = about 43.5 Palestinians?
