Limited to his lifespan, his character, and the usual resources at his disposal.

So, it's probably not likely he'll spend the next fifty to seventy years prepping just to defeat Thor, as that goes against his character in the comics (Or almost anyones character.)

I could see him prepping for a year or three, maybe, but lets keep it realistic.

So, Lex gets 3 years prep?

That's kind of stretching it, but sure, why not?

He preps against Thor like he would against Superman in the comics. Use that as the litmus test for how much prep he'll actually use.
