The GOML blast took at best a few seconds, plus being in a forest gives Scott options like caves, rivers, cliffs etc etc, that he can take advantage of to allow him to get away/hide/rest.

* Cyke's blasts are concussive force blast... the first wave of bears hit by the blast (either dead or KO'ed) will be knocked back, causing the bears behind them to be knocked back also... the next wave will trip and trample over the bears in the first wave... and it will be another few seconds or minutes before Cyke hits them again, and again, and again...

* Cyke is a strategist and a tactician, i don't think he will let the bears come near him in the first place...
