Do you think Star Was will get better or worse after George Lucas passes on?

Thread as title reads.

Your opinions please?

By the time Lucas dies, I don't think Star Wars will be popular, anymore.

I think someone will buy the righs and make it into a porno series soit will be WIDLEY populr

Star Wars can do fine without him unless some nutjob takes his position.

The entire KOTOR saga is not his creation and yet it is amazing. There is hope from others.

I imagine that it will simultaneously stay the same, improve, and get worse. It depends on the specific medium and the area of the mythos that's being worked on. After his death, someone might end making a sensible call to Lucas' personal works--the films and the TV series--such as declaring certain parts to be non-canon, or re-working them in more preferable ways.

But Lucas has made some... decent contributions to the EU's canon. No more Wookiee Jedi for one. Killing Anakin Solo for another (IMO). He also clarified the power gap between Vader and Palpatine. And regardless of the game's quality, his blessing and go-ahead for TFU was, again IMO, a good thing. Character quality aside, I liked the overall plot and the tie-in with the OT's Rebel Alliance. Without his iron fist, little things like this might not have happened.

Overall, I think the mythos will largely go unchanged, development-wise. His involvement in the vast majority of EU works has been minimal at best, and writers and developers have been going their own way with stories for a long time now--which is, incidentally, how Lucas wants it. The only thing I hope they do once GL has gone the way of T.I. is maintain a firm stance on continuity (or rather I should say, strengthen the stance).

Lucien- are you black?

😑

Wh-why do you ask?

Hopefully after he's gone Star Wars will establish a more consistent power level. The difference between Lucas' works and the EU is substantial.

Also a revised Prequals with actual quality would be good.

But on the other hand, can SW survive his passing?

Yes. Even if Star Wars began to fade today, and Lucas lived for another 25 years, his death will only remind everybody of it again. It'll go through a revival in popularity when he dies, though just what that entails is anybody's guess.

Lol so it is good if he dies

😐

Its not good when someone dies, no.

So was it not good when Hitler died?

Hmmm. IDK. Do you not think that a person deserves a shot at redemption, no matter what his crimes?

Why the **** is Hitler even being used as a measuring pole? That's like... the most extreme example you can give.

Because of our good friend Godwin.

That doesn't count either because the discussion so far has been short. Going by Godwin's law, the chances that Hitler would be mentioned now would be astronomical.
