Dr. Doom vs Hal Jordan

Doom gets a power ring, and a few weeks to master it, but won't use his armor or magic.

Who wins?

Doom's will is absolute.

Doom doesn't need the ring. He's Doom, also IF Hal did win he'd just beat a Doombot anyways thus Doom still wins.

While I don't have any doubt that Doom's will is immense, I don't think it's any greater than Hal's. Hal wins due to vastly greater experience.

Well, Doom resisted Purple Man on sheer willpower. I don't think anyone else has done that.

Hal killed a Guardian with a GL ring. Nobody else has done that.

Hal owns Doom before Victor can get finished with his overly dramatic speech about how he will win.

Hal's about as imaginative as a potato, though, so Doom's massive ingenuity and creativity will be key here.

Not that it matters, because Doom would kill him anyway.

With ease.

If you want to interpret the fight my way he basically overpowered the aggregated will of the universe when he delivered the Krona busting attack. He literally overcame a being who had the entity representing will itself under his control.

Doom, easily.

No one sane wants to.

It's a great feat. But he tried and failed before to overpower Krona, so it's probably not a level of power he can reach often at all. The fact it took him the entire arc to pull that off probably means he needs to be in the right situation at the right time, in the right frame of mind to do it.. It may or may not be as likely as being struck by lightning or winning the lottery.

While Doom, his ridiculous will is part of his character. The Purple Man stuff is just Dooms normal operating willpower.

Easily? 😬

Come on now.

I recall Kingpin doing it as well.

Anyway, Doom`s will is maybe the strongest in comics but are the GL rings not said to be incompatible with "cynical" willpower?

When has KP ever no selled PM?

Also, wtf is cynical willpower?

Hal is no Kyle.

Sinestro said Ollie was having problems because he was too cynical.

The Guardians are like the living embodiments of cynicism..
