Yeah, that whole part kind of lost me, too. The ending is silly, but I love the rest of the movie.
He had experimented on himself(which he passed on genetically to Bruce), which is why he changed as well when he shot himself with gamma-radiation.

"Iron Man," "Captain America," and "The Incredible Hulk" were all some of the best superhero movies I've ever seen.
"Thor" was a really good film.
"Iron Man 2" was ok, and the closest of any to mediocrity.
I would say the Wolverine Origins was the closest to mediocre. Iron Man 2 was a tad better.
I gave W😮 a 6 and IM2 a 6.5.
But..............I don't believe W😮 counts in what you're talking about.
