Would Palpatine of let Anakin kill him in ROTS?

You know in Revenge of the sith when Palpatine confesses to Anakin that he is the Sith Lord? Well, when that happened, Anakin brought out his lightsaber, Sidious says, "Are you going to kill me?" Would Sidious have let Anakin kill him if he tried.
