I know regular Gambit is overrated, and obviously you buy into the hype.

He's Captain America level, at best. Asgardians are >>>>> Cap/Wolverine/meta level. Any of the Warriors 3 or Balder are good competition for Thing or Danny, and waaaaay beyond what normal Gambit can hang with.

But goddamn, his jobber aura makes Wolverines look reasonable...

New Sun stomps Balder into bloody mess then detonates the remains for a nice light show.

Gambit does have a lot more superpowers than those street levels, to be sure.

Isn't New Son like, High Herald Level?

Balder's strong, more-so than most Asgardians, but he's not New Son's level. New Son can literally cease his movement at a distance, or charge his armor while he's wearing it (also at a distance).

New Son can just charge Balder's head.
