Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

All the Persona games are PS exclusive. And hey, they already have a fighting game.

I smell a cross-over!

Crash Bandicoot and Snake aren't exclusive characters. They're both in games that have been on other systems (360, primarily).

Crash Bandicoot was once the PlayStation mascot and Guns of the Patriots is still a PS3 exclusive. Bite me.

First, several of those aren't PS exclusives like CB and Snake. Secondly, many of them are, IMO, pretty lame and un-iconic. And finally, that's still not nearly as many characters as Brawl had.

Now obviously Brawl has some bad characters in their cast but the vast majority of them deserved to be there.

Popularity? Weren't we talking about there not being enough exclusives and me saying otherwise?

Brawl has like 35 characters in total, right? Well so far with the confirmed characters plus the ones I just mentioned, that's about 24 or 25 characters and add other characters like...

[insert Persona character here]
The Warrior (Demon's Souls)
Ellen/Keats (Folklore)
Neptune (Hyperdimension Neptunia)
Rohn (Lair)
Zala (Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom)
Welkin (Valkyria Chronicles)
Leonard (White Knight Chronicles)
Knight (Guardian's Crusade)

There.

No I specifically said "good characters". Obviously, we could get hundreds of obscure characters to fill up the roster but to get characters that have the "iconicness" or uniqueness required for the game we would have to look beyond PS exclusives.

Most of the smash characters are pretty obscure aswell. Mario, Link, Pikachu, Donkey Kong are the only real iconic characters, maybe samus

I think the dislikes have more to do with the fact that the cast for this game kind of sucks ass thus far (sans some obvious choices like Drake and Kratos), and less to do with nintendo fanboys disliking it.

No, it has a lot to do with Nintendo fanboys disliking it. You look around and you'll no doubt find them saying "Smash Bros. ripoff" or "carbon copy" or an "unoriginal" idea.

Big Daddy (who isn't even a character in a PS3 exclusive, wtf?), Parappa and Fat Princess are all epic fails, imo.

They already confirmed 3rd party characters for this game since they're a big part of PS consoles so Big Daddy not being a PS3 exclusive isn't really a problem. Also, from what I've seen, fans don't seem to have any problems with Fat Princess and Parappa.

You are bringing absolutely nothing concrete to the discussion with this subjectivity shit.

The only concrete part of your statement would be after we've stripped the fat, and are left with saying Sony doesn't have enough characters to fill up a roster.

That would be completely incorrect. Sony owns a lot more IPs than Nintendo actually.

And for SSB, outside of Pikachu, Mario, Link, and Donkey Kong, and maybe Samus none of the rest are particularly iconic.

Talking about 'good characters' here, Big Daddies aren't even CHARACTERS. They are generic, reoccuring enemy types. It would be slightly better if it was actually the primitive model Subject Delta Big Daddy that you actually played with in Bioshock 2, but no, you don't play as an actual character here, but a non-unique enemy type.

And again, Big Daddies have no real relevance or history towards the Playstation brand whatsoever. The original Bioshock was actually a timed 360 exclusive--so I could see it having more relevance towards a hypothetical Microsoft type of All-Stars game.

Nintendo went for 3rd party as well, but their additions made far more sense. Sonic has been a rival for Mario since he was created. So that was a major selling point there, as he's been a dream character to add to SSB for years. Not to mention, Sega made plenty of Sonic stuff for the Gamecube specifically after the Dreamcast died. Snake? Snake has a longer history with Nintendo than he does even with Sony. And Twin Snakes was also made exclusively for the Gamecube.

Both were far more justifiable choices to add than taking up a character slot with something that has no real relevance to your brand, and is not even a real character to begin with.

Big Daddies aren't Playstation All-Stars. They are a needless filler.

No, that's all horribly incorrect.

Fine. Stay in denial all you want.

Never said otherwise.

Most of them are still fairly large icons though. Certainly big enough for a game like this. I have no problem with caharcters like Sweet Tooth being in the game but when you begin to dredge out chracters like Fat Princess or other characters that have been in a single rather unpopular game... Well, then I'd certainly say they are not iconic.

And no, I'm fine with you saying Big Daddy doesn't fit as I can certainly see where you are coming from. Personnaly though, I'm happy to see him in the game as I like Bioshock.

Bioshock was the first big Xbox 360 exclusive that defected to The Playstation 3 in the great war of HD consoles, Of course it earned a place in Playstation history 😄

As a Bioshock fan I don't give a f if he belongs or not though now that I think of it, Subject delta should be in instead of an average Big Daddy.

I don't think Sony has any character that has reached the level of pikachu or Mario, They would have to add generic COD soldier to fill that spot, Kratos and Snake (he's not PS exclusive but that's where he made his name known) are definitley at least Link and DK level, Sackboy is about as well known as samus,

Fat princess is about as popular as Ice climbers lol.

I heard that Fat Princess did get some good reviews.

I dunno about that. When people mention Nintendo games they usually come up with "Mario, Zelda, Metroid" as the big three, even though Pokemon is bigger than Metroid will ever be. DK seems about that level, too, so it could also go there.

But that's Smash Bros. Do we know if there even is a specific criteria for getting into this game? Owned by Sony, yeah, but with 3rd party characters confirmed there doesn't seem to be a huge restriction.

Jak has been hinted:

On the Big Daddy (non)issue, Sony is probably just showing some love to Ken Levine and Irrational Games for taking one of the best franchises and not only moving it away from 360 exclusivity, but having Ken go as far as to say that the PS3 is the "primary" platform (now that seems to have mostly been empty rhetoric, since the PS3 and 360 are both getting versions tailored made for their systems and not mere ports, but I'm sure Sony loves that PR bullshit anyway). There is also a Bioshock LPB Vita pack on the way as well. I'm sure the idea is keep the Bioshock brand in the minds of consumers while attempting to shift brand recognition associated with the Bioshock franchise towards the PS3 in anticipation of Bioshock Infinite.

From what I heard, this was about Lara Croft:

It is kind of a funny response but I sure don't see it as a definite answer.

Seth Killian is now assisting to help make the game and two new characters will be announced at Comic Con.

Was I the only one who thought it was gonna be Jak and Cole MacGrath who were gonna be announced?

Nope, you're not the only one.

Still, we got comic con.

I hope SuperBot adds Ultra V from War of the Monsters and Ari with his shadow master, Stan from Okage: Shadow King.

To be fare every MGS main installment has been a Playstation exclusive at least at time of its release (MGS4 remains exclusive, 1 was only ever ported to PC later and obviously remade much later, 2 was ported to PC and Xbox much later, and now 2 and 3 are availabe on 360 as aprt of the collection). And most people obviously associate Snake with those 4 games,a dn they will associate those games as at least fro a time being PS exclusives. So Snake should def be included (thry would do well to incldue a good few MGS characters to be completely honest).

I also think Big Daddy is a good selectyion, even if it not a single character. I haven't played Bioware but they look pretty damn awesome badass and menacing and hell, technically yoshi isn't just a single character but they included him, same with all the pokemon or pikmin for smash.
