Of course.
The bayformer fans've already proven themselves to stand for anything Bay and co pull from their bottoms, lap it up and ask for more..
People are already thinking that 4 and 5 are gonna be good.
The studio knows that their investment is sound whatever happens and thats why Bay has been given more work now, after counting the returns.
But ultimately, the fans are seriously the least of their concerns, other than in that they are necessary to the studio to extract cash from.

says its been nominated for Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Visual Effects.
It likely won't win for Visual Effects, because Hollywood has a full out bias against George Lucas and ILM - I think they've only won one Oscar in the past 15 years, for the second POTC in 2006. They SHOULD have won for Transformers the next year, but they gave it to that big disappointment The Golden Compass instead. Whenever they get a chance to pass ILM over, they do it.
On the flip side, the quality of FX by Weta Digital can't be ignored, with several Oscars since 2001. And it's hard to discount their work on Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, which is probably favoured.
Dark of the moon dominates Razzie nominations
