As of 12-3-11, the Authority have been retconned into nonexistence. Remnants of them are on the new Stormwatch, while others never existed.
The most recent Wildstorm team was also confusing, because they sort of "meshed" all the teams into new configurations the last year or so. Some were trapped on the Carrier as it shot toward space, with members of Wildcats and Stormwatch, and became the de facto Authority. Nothing like a classic Authority has existed for a couple years.
No prep hurts the "Lulz, Reed + Batman" arguments. Still, uphill battle for the X-Men.
