Pre-Timeskip Strawhats vs Hody's Crew

What do you guys think? Could the Strawhats have taken out these jokers without the timeskip upgrades?

Its basically the same situation except without Vander Decken ****ing everything up with that giant ship. Also I guess Jinbei isn't there.

I think they could've taken them. It's no longer a breeze, and drugged-up Hodi is going to be really hard to actually stop, plus those many combat units aren't going to be super-easy any more (though Nico's always been great at dealing with large forces of weak foes), but the whole Strawhats together should manage.

I agree that it'd be way harder. As long as they keep Hody out of the water they should be ok to take him down if they gang up on him. I don't know why they'd follow him in without the ship though, so I don't think it'd be a factor.

If it was an actual fight and not a race to destroy the arc Luffy could probably defeat Hodi by himself, Sanji and Zoro make this a stomp.

Keep in mind drugged-up Hodi did take more than one hit from post-TS Luffy to take down, and how much damage Luffy did to a Pacifista.

The guy should, if nothing else, be quite a tank. I do see a teamup as required against him.

If they keep them out of the water, the Straw Hats should manage. Push come to shove, Chopper can nom nom nom on three Rumble Balls and go crazy. But the team as a whole managed to take out a Pacifista, which is more impressive than anything Hody and his cronies ever did.

But a lot of the crew will be somewhat limited so it's not going to be a complete stomp.

Wait...is the Kraken present? Cause the Straw Hats probably wouldn't win if this were the case.

No, because Luffy hasn't developed his Haki enough to tame it yet.

And Zoro kinda did beat him offscreen really.

I did. I can't wait till the fight's animated and we can make gifs of Luffy punching him eternally in the face.

Oh, speaking of Haki, didn't Luffy use it to take out, like, a few thousand people at the start of the fight?

Simple numbers may be a real problem.

He'd probably use it on accident though.

Luffy pretty much walked through the 10,000 marines at Enies Lobby without even going to Gear 2. With the entire crew going all out I don't think even 100,000 fishmen could take them down.

But some of the combat units the Fishmen had had special weapons and abilities, and when going through the marines he didn't have to fight officers at the same time.

Nah man. Naruto just turned the tide of a war, like a bawss. And Ichigo was hanging with the top tier guys of his verse long before either.

What makes Luffy more badass is the fact that he lacks fvcks to give about any odds. Granted, he ran from Kuma but that really was a one time deal. Naruto and Ichigo are easier to frighten.
