Naruto has never had arcs where I legitimately regret the time I spent reading it. One Piece has two, Bleach has two back to ****ing back.
That just means you are very resistant to Sasuke and his Taka time. Frankly, some of the first post-time skip arcs were cringe worthy. Actually, just the current arc and the Chunin exams strike me as actually good Naruto arcs.
But yeah, Amazon Lily, Fishman Island and the start of One Piece is stupid slow.
As for the fight, Goku solos. Gohan is koed by Luffy's Royal Haki 131
Not everyone likes Sasuke as much as you do Aura. And you're wrong, Sasuke gets stuff done, kinda, but Taka has no reason to exist at all. They contribute nothing except gheyness. I suspect they're only in the manga because Sasuke is such an introverted person that he can't carry entire arcs by himself.
But yeah, the Sasuke arcs, the Sai introduction and the start of the Shinobi war (the part with Sai, surprise surprise) and the end of the Pain arc were pretty damn bad.
And Taka assists him. 馃槷
With the Sai arc, we were actually addressing one of Naruto's goals directly, Saving Sasuke. Sai and his development is merely a less important part. Sasuke arcs included two Akatsuki guys being killed(and consider Akatsuki was the big bad at the start with only 9 guys this is rather important) and the start of the World War, a rather important event in the story. And the start of the war wasn't very good(not due to Sai but that whole silliness with the Edo Tensei) but then again it's not the whole arc. It wasn't god awful.
You seem to think liking a character is a bad thing. If I didn't like several One Piece characters, I would consider the arcs that they're prominent in to also be trash.

He enlisted them to help him fight his brother but they didn't do anything and he specifically told them to keep out of it. Plot-wise, Taka has no place in the manga. Sasuke could do most of what they do by himself. But I guess that would be kind of boring and also slightly implausable.

Stuff happening doesn't make an arc good. Just because stuff happened in the Sasuke arc doesn't make Sasuke any more bareable.
The Sai arc addressed saving Sasuke by making Naruto look like a moron. Sasuke tries to freaking murder him and he still wants to try to bring him back. And they get all pissed that Sai was going to assassinate Sasuke and Naruto convinces Sai not to do it, which is again a stupid move on Narutos part. But mainly it was just kind of shit and I didn't like it.

I didn't say that liking a character is a bad thing. In fact, that was my point. We don't like some of the arcs because of how prominent Sasuke is, which is why they're so crap for us.

Sasuke could not heal himself, find a away inside places with ease, or fight off all of Raikage and his forces. In practice, Taka isn't as worthless as they've been thought to be. They did save Sasuke's life twice in one day. And plot-wise, Jugo has a reason to want to be with Sasuke. Karin did but she developed into being more than a Sasuke fangirl. And Suigetsu has an actual goal, which is pretty admirable in its own right.

Except stuff happening is rather important. Otherwise we end up with in canon filler. And no, the quality of the arc should never reflect the quality of the character.
Then your problem is with one of the themes. Naruto not wanting Sasuke to be killed is completely in character, as it is for Sakura. And Yamato didn't act very pissed(been a while, might be remembering wrong) but if he were, it would be more to Danzo breaking the law than anything else.

Well if we're going to hate an arc based on how much of the characters we hate are in it, then I'd absolutely hate Marineford. Objectively, Marineford is one of if not THE BEST arc in One Piece so far.
There is only so much that character likability should factor into determining the quality of the arc. The instances where a character I like saves an arc tie into other dynamics of the arc. For example, if I didn't like Brook, I would wonder why the Straw Hats are even bothering with the arc to begin with.
