The only saving grace was that he was totally invulnerable to harm in his own universe. He was getting his ass kicked by superman and captain marvel when they both teamed up. The interesting thing is that despite all of his legendary weakness to magic where he is supposed to get koed by any magic, all marvel and adam could do was to stalemate him other than in one case where adam ambushed him and knocked him to the ground despite being totally invulnerable to the point that a guy channeling the power of whole universe couldn't harm cap. Make no mistake the scans of captain marvel koing superman is in fact of Earth-2 superman who was vastly weaker than his earth-1 counterpart. Another little fact, any shazam family member could be changed to their mortal form by normal or magical lightning.
