Flight Vs Swim

When characters like superman and thor are under water are they actually flying through the water or swimming?

And since namor can fly ,does that mean he flies underwater or does he actually swim?

To answer, they're propelling themselves through water not unlike a torpedo, unless they're actually flapping their arms and kicking their legs.

They swim in air and fly in water.

Depends on the individual. Some'll use their super-strong muscles, some'll use their flight power.

Like, if Thor didn't have his hammer, he'd swim.

I think fliers just propel themselves with flight powers.

But people like aquaman or others who don't have flight powers but travel well underwater swim fast due to special physiology.

Namor can do whatever he wants but idk if he would be faster in air or water...

If so, and Supes is flying....does this mean Aquamanhas more raw speed???
