Odin stopped out of mercy on Thanos...
Lets recap the fight...Odin did the following to Thanos:
1) Pimp slapped the taste out of his mouth...
2) Beat him down...
3) Struck a pose over Thanos's helpless purple body...
4) Offered him mercy...
Leave that denial pipe where you found it; Thanos got his azz whipped by Odin...

actually it wasn't totally drained as we later saw... so that must've been a pretty damn powerful blast... The blast didn't KO... it just gave 3 of the strongest TP's in Marvel the ability to shut his mind down and incapacitate him.
