Yes, they share the same history and both this story and OWAW fit perfectly together.

Going with Imperiex Prime here. IP seemed to be a rough equal to Galactus, Surtur is a rough equal to Odin, and their latest meeting aside (which I personally thought was horribly written), Ill take Galactus over Odin much much more than not.
Imperiex Prime > Eternity/Kismet who > Galactus. And yeah I would view Galactus above Odin also.

In Action Comics 544 and 545. Found out about it a few months ago, got the comics to see if it was true and it was.
No I wouldn't think so, while the Post-Crisis Superman would be an entirely new continuity, some aspects of the Earth-One version remained intact. The Action Comics story seems to have been brought back into continuity with OWAW in 2001. This was why the Anti-Monitor
fanatically went to the beginning to try to change events.
