I agree...I can't believe people are voting him so low.
Not many feats of strength to go on for Rider, so it takes some detective work. His Nova corps file says his strength is incalculable. Marvel (which usually low sells strength levels) has his strength rating as a 7, which is above Namor's. Saal with the full Nova force was vastly stronger the likes of Wonder Man, Thing et al. But I just base it on the what I know about how his power works, the relative ease that he heaved that 100,000+ ton technarch, no selling Korg punching him, the ease with which he slapped Venom away, stalemated the surfer in their little grappling match without amping, etc. Taken all together it doesn't take a genius to extrapolate where he is in terms of strength. And that's before he even amps his power level.

I agree that Nova is strong as hell (technarch, the stuff he did on the planet Galactus was eating), but I'm p.sure Surfer won that grappling match, seeing as he pushed the two of them down onto the planet making a crater.

Nope. Nova was on top (hehe) so if any forcing was done it was by him.
Actual looking at it again, the second scan it looks like it perhaps can be a side view as well. Either way its clearly not Norrin forcing Nova down to the planet.
As a side note, I love the way that the art team depicted their clash. Nova's gravimetric energies contrasted with the Surfer's cosmic energies. They really nailed that scene.

So where would you rank Nova mills?
Just as his nova corps file explains and the books show, his strength is based on however much gravimetric energy he's channeling. The same power he uses to open warps, or whatever is the same that he can use for physical enhancement and really doesn't have a set limit. One minute he could be struggling against Xenith, another he can temporarily over power a technarch sire. But for the sake of battle boards the evidence is a bit more demanding then supplemental comic files and what not, So I'd say he operates on the level of a Namor more or less. However being that the Nova force is an open ended plot device they could write him one-shotting elite strong men and it'll be no shocker to people that know the mythos.

You think strength and durability are one in the same? There are a couple of guys on this list that could sleep through the force that melted Wendigo and company.
well realistically, there is a correlation between strength and durability.
comics don't always heed to that, but they often seem to.

You're technically right, however as you said, its not always the case. Rhino was stronger than old school Nova, but still nearly ko'd himself running into Rich while Nova was knocked away and (while annoyed) was completely unharmed.
