Thanos didn't really have a chance there either, once the element of surprise was gone.

I can see them at least driving Thanos off if they really step it up.

Thanos has pretty powerful TP defence. Not sure if team can break through them. In Annhilation he no-sold Moondragon's TP like it was nothing. In TI it took Mantis, Cosmo, and Moondragon to hold him back at his weakest state. Later he grew too strong for them to mind-lock.
Hope copying Thanos' powers is questionable. Thanos isn't a mutant in the conventional homo-superior sense. He's a mutant because he has the Deviant gene that makes him look ugly. He doesn't derive his power from it though, they come from being Eternal plus his mystical and biological/bionic amps.

Thanos mindraped galactus and made he's original herald his personal slave. plus he fought tyrant. So chareles trys probing his mind but thsn cries himself into a como trying to probe his thoughts. Thanos then mindrapes apocalypse and cable making them his heralds. The rest relizing all Hope is gone! kneel before their god!
