Destiny

Weapons and overall glitches/fixes update to hit sometime tonight.

Patch isn't out and people are already going nuts. Bungie may have gone overboard with some nerfs, but I'll hold my judgement.

Autos got a range(2 percent drop), stability and critical shots damage nerf. Scouts will hit harder. Shotgun distance nerfed. The Vex got a 34 damage nerf on body shots. That is masty.

THe biggest blow goes to Fusion rifles, the lvl 30 hard raid exotic one called Vex something and the Pocket Infinity.

What did they do to Fusion Rifles. To be honest I always though Fusion Rifles were the most unbalanced gun in the entire game. Not saying they were outrageously so but I definitely felt a good Fusion Rifle user was damn near unbeatable in most short mid range to close range fights. It's laughable how far away they could one shot people at times imo.

I'm a little weary of the shotgun range nerf though. They were already the gun with the shortest kill range in the game. Once you get out of that close range area at all their effectiveness in a fight drops considerably.

I am glad to see Scout Rifles getting a bump. I can see why the stability for the auto rifle and range would get nerfed some. If you had a good stable auto rifle it had enough range in most cases to be an auto scout rifle.

I'm doing better in multiplayer.

I think melee should 1-hit kill people. Also, is there a "double stab" ability for Hunters? I think I saw someone very quickly slash me twice and then I died.

I still run the Fusioin Rifle+Auto-Rifle combo. Seems effective.

They didn't nerf Fusion Rifles perse, but they nerfed specific ones like the Pocket Infinity(exotic) and the raid one. Pocket got a clip decrease perk change to faster reload. Apparently the shots were cut in half(not too sure about that) and the Vex(raid) got the damage drop and got a critical buff, albeit a slight one from 1.25 to 1.50.

I also thought Fusion Rifles were unbalanced. Like they either sucked hard or were too good(like the 2 that got hit with the nerf hammer) The Vex was single handedly the best gun; outclassing even the Suros Regime(Most fun gun ever) I was worried Fusion Rifles would usurp the throne from Autos once Shotguns and Autos got nerfed(since they kind of dance between the range those two excel at) but it seems Bungie was aware of what could have happened and performed a pre-emptive nerf.

Shotguns are tricky. I don't think they were unbalanced or overpowered, but rather the maps and gameplay mechanics favor them a little too much(like Auto Rifles) The range was fine IMHO. It is a FKN Shotgun, ya know? They should have either added a stopping power ability or perk that slowed people down if you shot them when they sprint towards you like they did in Gears of War to counter the Godlike Gnasher, and or nerf the effectiveness of slide. It ain't the shotties, it is the mobility of the chars combined with small maps that make them dominate.

You just want Destiny to be CoD 2.0 bro. Melees are fine. There are gun and/or armor perks that increase the speed of melees.

So after playing Destiny I don't really feel a change that much. I still think Auto Rifle is the way to go in PvP although I didn't use Scout Rifle much.

The Fusion Rifle is still the least balanced gun in the game imo. Especially for PvP.

Seriously nothing annoys me more than turning a corner and getting one shotted from a half way across the room with a Fusion Rifle. I seriously do not get mad at anyone else killing me with any other weapon in the game. Everytime I do I normally blame myself for making a dumb move, had wrong weapon out, was too slow on the trigger.

I don't feel that way with the Fusion Rifle. I feel most times I get killed by that weapon there was nothing I could do to avoid save having a heavy weapon out and ready to use.

Still this game is still more balanced than most others can boast about and the FS while frustrating I feel doesn't prevent me from getting kills. At this point it is a minor grip.

Imgur sucks.

That is all.

Haven't played much PvP. Been farming, grinding and doing the raid. I did feel the Auto-Rifle nerf from what little I played last night.

However I am willing to bet you(us all) will still get killed by the guns. I don't think Bungie was looking to ruin certain gun types. Like I said they nerfed specific Fusion Rifles, so that is probably why you haven't felt much of a change because the ones they touched are "rare."

I agree. Barring Halo 1/2's Pistol/BR Bungie balances things pretty good. It is with special abilities(Reach's retarded vanilla Armor Lock) and Supers(Destiny) where people whine and ***** the most, but hey those are effin' supers.

Here is a little something/strat I do when engaging fire fights, and it works most of the time. When you're in a shootout and are aiming down the sight and strafing try to stop the ADS for a split second or two because when you are aiming down the sights you move slower, and thus you can really blow up your enemies accuracy by the sudden change in speed. Remember that most of the time Fusions get 1 shot to kill you, and this tactic can mess them up/buy you time. It is imperative that everyone strafes otherwise you're a sitting duck. I'm thinking that could be dadudedemon's problem with Destiny because he comes from CoD and in CoD kill times are so short you don't even have time to do them. Whereas in Halo strafe is a pivotal factor to winning engagements.

No it doesn't. You're not using the image tags on KMC properly. You must use a proper image format within the quote tags in order to embed an image into a post.

the image MUST end in something like .jpg, jpeg, .png, or .gif.

If your image does not end in those, you're just posting a hyperlink. If you try to put a hyperlink between the image tags, KMC does not know how to handle it because there is no image data so it just posts the "broken image" icon to indicate there is nothing there.

In summary, imgur doesn't suck, you do. Step up your message board tagging game, son.

Could be. But I move around like a rabbit to avoid getting shot. Part of my problem is my aim: I suck with a controller and I'm superb (not gonna lie...I rape on any PC FPS) with a keyboard and mouse. So I usually lose long gun fights.

I will try to actively use your trick, though. I also need to use more double jumping but i feel that the trajectory becomes too predictable: I often kill people who think jumping into the air is going to prevent me from shooting them...as if I cannot aim up?

Try lowering the sensitivity. This game's hitboxes are huge.

True that. Double jumping/Blink is really good when you know how to use it though. When you don't you just get into trouble because it is very floaty. I take it you use a Hunter? BD or GS?

I use hunter, GS.

And, yes, I always play with my sensitivity up very high to max on any non-PC FPS.

Once I am done grinding a way on the RAID and Bounty stuff (getting decent equipment), I'll start doing more PvP stuff. I will record some of my games so you (and others) can critique my play-style. This game is definitely different than a CoD game: takes waaaaaaaaaaaay more shots. I love to play hardcare on CoD games: 1-3 shots to kill.

My favorite was 1-hit kills in Goldeneye. I was a beast...

That's funny, I always put my sensitivity on very low. In most games, it's very, very low. I'm not sure why.

I play as a berserker that gets a high body count...that tactic doesn't really work in Destiny.

Me too. Back when I was a Halo 2 noob I used the sensitivity on max based on the theory that it rocked cause I could look/face everywhere and rain dual wielding sprays. As I got better and moved on to precision guns like the BR/Snipers I started to lower the sensitivity to make it easier to hit headshots and keep the sights/reticule on targets. Sensitivity kept lowering because of drunken nights were sensitivity 10 was just nuts. Nowadays I always go slow. It is much easier, and I tend to use the movement of the char if I need certain strafes etc.

I get a bit lightheaded when I have high sensitivity.

And I'm probably in the same boat as you regarding keeping sights on targets and such.

Third attempt at the raid today and finally beat it. And it was much easier this time around.

did you get lucky with rewards?
