I'm not saying it would work, because nobody since Jack Kirby knows how to write Darkseid or has an understanding of how his powers work, but the Omega Effect doesn't kill. It erases whatever it targets from existence entirely. Closest thing in Marvel would probably be the Ultimate Nullifier (which I realize isn't that close, but the OE is supposed to nullify).

In theory, but not in practice, it would work on Thanos.

Darkseid is not to be underestimate, even if it's new DC Darseid.

The Great Darkness Saga was implied to still be cannon in one of the new DCU line up. It was Legion I believe. It was said the Daxamites worked for Darseid.

So using that as a ball point, then depends how we interpret this, Darkseid might be, or will be returning to his Pre-Crisis level of power.
