That's like asking what makes last year's Mortal Kombat game just a more violent MK VS DC.Heavily modified engine. I don't see how that alone isn't a huge difference. Not to mention a very different fighting system.
It's a solely DC game, so fatalities and anything too bone-shatteringly violent is off the table. The onus is on big, comic book-type battles, with people being tossed through walls (like Boon said, every arena has three areas to fight in). It's a completely different focus, with a heavily modified engine like I said. People have a character specific power, which can mean various things for various people. For Wonder Woman, it actually alters her fighting style.
I don't know why being 2d somehow hurts it; it didn't hurt MK.
Does it have power bars and super moves? Yes, just like plenty of other fighters.
And I don't know how you can say Marvel Nemesis is better when you haven't even played this one.
Because of what Nemesis had. As I explained above........my argument isn't trying to downplay this game. Because it looks fun regardless/
I'm just saying I ain't getting any younger and I want a superhero game that truly shows the powersets of our beloved fictional heroes in a fashion that is closer to the comics we read. With the scope and majesty as the comics we read.
This is just a prettier 2D 1 on 1 bash fest. Don't get me wrong...I love these.
I play SF Alpha 3 religiously. It's fast paced smash em fun.
But it isn't an evolutionary step in regards gameplay. It's just an evolution in graphics.
Nemesis failed commercially because people weren't ready for it yet.
And I still support whole-heartedly a turn-based multi-player superhero game!
It's the only way such feats can be displayed as they are in the comics.
Instead of spam attacks and motion video activated uses of high end abilities.
