I heard about it from some posters. It's pretty tragic...in a brutal way.

Despite the non-Superman way Superman is acting, I'll give it a read.

The comic is a prequel and explains why Superman acts like that. According what I read on another forum:

Spoiler:
Superman faces off with Doomsday at the start, grabbing him and launching them both up into the atmosphere. Joker and Harley Quinn pull up on shore where they're met by Green Lantern (who pins them with a projected hand) and Wonder Woman. Batman and the Flash arrive soon after and Batman warns everyone of the Scarecrow's gas. It's at this point that everything clicks for the big Bat. The Joker taunts Batman saying the Bat knew what was happening and just didn't want to admit it. Batman attempts to warn Superman in time that he's under the influence of the gas, but it's too late. Superman finally clears his head of the gas in time to see that it was never Doomsday that he was taking off the planet, but Lois Lane (who's pregnant). Thus putting the Joker's final plan into motion, once Lois Lane's heart stops so will the other hearts of Metropolis; final panel: mushroom cloud as Superman's city is destroyed.

Interesting.

Not that I think that would drive Superman to becoming a dictator, but it's a reasonably decent explanation.

I don't really care about an explanation. I bought Superman going evil in that Justice Lord episode and that was cool as hell.

JLU did make Superman darker as that show went on, and he sort of lost his "Superman-ness" during it.

holy shit

I loved it when he was fully intending to beat Darkseid to death with his bare hands in that one episode.

Much as I love Superman for his gentleness, I must admit his potential for violence is also part of why I like him.

The Elite movie was awesome in that regard, arm hairs stood up during all that, even if he was just faking it at the end.

So, just from what I can tell it's:

Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern

vs

Batman, Green Arrow, Flash, Nightwing, Cyborg, Catwoman, and Harley?

Not really sure about the rest of them.

Was that a long haired/red suit Nightwing? And Sinestro Corps Batman?!

Well, that's Darkseid. Pretty much every incarnation of Superman has wanted to punch his face in repeatedly.

Just watched the video. Think I saw Hawkgirl. Also, interested to see what role Aquaman would play, given that he'd be somewhat disinclined to take sides with either of them due to Atlantis being what it is.
