I don't think Grundy is seen as much of a Batman character anyway so that really shouldn't be a problem.

Even if they are playing off the Batman-hype for this game, you can still clearly tell that this is a DC crossover game and not just a Batman game. Batman is arguably DC's biggest thing right now so it's no surprise that there's a good number of those characters but I personally don't feel that this is just a Batman game. It feels like a DC game just the way it is.

With Croc not confirmed to be playable, how many bat characters do we have now?

Yes, but considering how big Batman is, it isn't surprising. Especially seeing as you could argue that Batman has the most well known rogues gallery in all of comics.

We already have three Superman related characters.

Honestly, they wouldn't all have been my picks. I would love to see guys like Red Tornado or Geo-Force or even Kimiyo Hoshi in the game, but I can understand why they're going with the characters that have more mass appeal.

I knew when this game was announced that we would be getting at least 4 Batman characters. And it makes sense for just about all of them that are in

Batman - No explantion needed

Joker - Is Batman's arch nemesis. Regardless of how some people feel he shouldn't be in because "he's not really a fighter", he's too big of a character to miss out on the story.

Harley - The Batman character that probably gets the most flak. She was originally gonna be DLC in MKvsDC. Her being in IGAU could be NRS making up for that.

Bane - Was a main character in one of the biggest movies last year. Regardless of NRS wanted him or not, I doubt DC was not gonna make them include him.

Catwoman - Like Bane was in TDKR. Was also in MKvsDC so that made her chances even more likely.

Nightwing - This is the only one I'm not too sure about to be honest.

And while it's understandable that the general public barely knows any DC characters outside of Batman that doesn't mean that's what mainly should be in the game. 90% of the GP wouldn't even know Bane if not for TDKR. The only ones they really knew before that were Batman and Joker. Catwoman they also probably know, but not very many people were asking for her. The general public have no idea who Nightwing is, nor that he's the original Robin. And I already mentioned the possibility of Harley's inclusion.

That's 6 Batman characters. And possibly a 7th now that it's rumored that Robin(Damian Wayne) will be in as well. That should enough to draw the general public in since they seem to love Batman. What kills me is the fanatical Batman fans still demanding more characters when they already have 6 to choose from. I mean I've even see people suggest Two-Face and Riddler.

I'll accept the 6 characters we have now, but I don't know if I'll accept Damian being in. Especially if he gets in and not Black Canary. Who's my most wanted female and has plenty of moveset potential. I understand people like those characters, but somewhere the line needs to be drawn and they need to say alright time to give some other characters a shot. If they never show anything else its always going to be about Batman, this is a good time to show off some different characters, get the general public interested in them.

Even though MVC3 got a lot of flak, I think they did the right thing by not saturating the roster full of X-men and Street Fighter characters. The majority that did complain don't read comics and are too narrow minded to actually learn about characters they aren't familar with.
