Running from March to June, Brian Michael Bendis' Age of Ultron is finally set to see the light of day. Bryan Hitch has completed the first five issues of the book, while Brandon Peterson and Carlos Pacheco will be handling art duties on the latter five. Three issues will be released in March, three in April, two in in May and June, and finally an epilogue to follow. There will be about six to seven tie-ins altogether consisting of "AU" one-shots (similar to the #.1 issues) and limited series' for the titles such as Fantastic Four and Superior Spider-Man."Age of Ultron is about Ultron, one of our biggest villains ever, finally fulfilling his destiny, which is taking the Earth," Bendis explained in a conference call with Marvel.com. "From the very first page, Ultron has taken the Marvel Universe and everything is changed. There is a shocking amount of destruction and devastation. It started in Avengers, but it's meant to be a Marvel Universe book." While the first issue of the series will pick up AFTER Ultron has taken over, the story is set firmly in the "Marvel NOW!" continuity, although it remains to be seen whether the fact that Peter Parker was alive and well in the original Point One prologue confirms that he is indeed the Superior Spider-Man. We DO know that Bendis' Moon Knight serves as a prologue of sorts.
"It's fair to say this is an Avengers Vs. X-Men level event," adds Tom Brevoort. "That doesn't mean we won't be doing other things later in 2013, but it's Brian, Bryan, Brandon, Carlos and all the ingredients needed for a big deal project."
The best part about the Age of Ultron #1 cover?
Spoiler:. 😂
Look at the guy left standing in the reflection of Ultron's face
