Everyone and their mother can take on Asgard, frankly right now being asgardian is akin to being a refugee on a Russian war zone. Take over Earth where you face actual opposition, get your status quo to be that of a powerful ruler and then maybe, just maybe, Doom will remember your name.

Doom is the most dangerous of their recurring opponents, excepting maybe Annihilus in his highest showings. Galactus is more powerful for example, but not nearly as dangerous.
