Hollywood vs (Loeb)Red Hulk

I like Thunderbolt a lot. I don't like what has been happening to him though.

IMO, a character like him, a seasoned military master, with the original profile of Red Hulk should easily be one of the highest threats in the Marvel universe.

Unfortunately, none of the writers there have any idea how to write utilizing military technique, tactis, strategy, etc. So this huge part of the character's profile gets completely ignored.

It is very sad and silly.

Hell, if you took the average Seal and only threw him in the body of, say, Luke Cage, you would have a character capable of defeating most of the top bricks in comics.

Loeb almost had him right. Were it not for introducing him by basically taking a dump on established characters and thus pissing off legions of fanboys, I think he could've done something special with the character. But yeah, originally he was close to what you're describing. Now they're on this extended mea culpa with him having him get his ass kicked every week. His book isn't all that bad though.

Hollywood, the Wonderman from the alternate universe. The one who took a multiple universe ending bomb to the face with no problems.

Wait, what? 😕

The only time I'm aware of that he took a big explosion was against that Stark alien. The alien self destructed his armor and it caused an explosion that rocked the solar system and Hollywood walked away from it unharmed.

Impressive but hardly multiple universe busting level.

Rulk on the other hand one shot KOed a Watcher. Killed one of the (if not THE) most powerful Elders of the universe and it took Galactus to stop his rampage.

Loeb Rulk can't lose.

Why does Thunderbolt's big porno-stache dissappear when he becomes Rulk?
