Smart way of saying stick middle finger up?

Flag off. Hand gesture of "**** you". I think Americans call it "flip the bird" (don't know what the **** birds have to do with it), but I'm writing an essay for University work and google is it's usual unhelpful self.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Edit: It's a film essay, specifically Riding in Cars with Boys, and there's a scene where Jason flags off a guy talking to his mother.

Most Americans say 'flick off' or 'flip the bird' or 'give the bird'

why not try "buger off"?

Go jack off!

Go shove it!

"Up Yours" is standard Aussie slang.

"smart ways"

edit

Wow, usually us "Americans" now adays give the "Hangover" jerk off method. The finger is just during road rage this days here in the states.

Flick off? Must be an east coast thing. I have never once heard that before, but I live on the west coast. Flip off is what we say here.

I'm not sure if this applies here, but one time I heard someone say

"People like you are the reason God gave us middle fingers!"
