The Long Post Home
So, here's what I figure.
Nate can't be the leader of the group. In general, he's too impulsive, too prideful, and too naive. He could be the strongest, basically he could be the "Naruto" of our group, but if so I'm going to do some character fails to ensure that it is more like the "Naruto"... which means when he starts getting all "I'm dangerous" Shota is going to do something like...
Shota and Annie sit in the corner while making funny faces, laughing while Nate goes on about something that they don't care about.
or
Shota slams her fists into Nate's cheeks and starts rubbing them harshly as if giving his cheeks a noogy. Her fists move so fast, creating enough friction to cause smoke to rise and finally light his face on fire. "IDIOT!!"
or
While Nate stands up and raises his sword into the air as if to act cool, Shota suddenly stands behind him without warning and brings her fist down, striking him with so much force upon the head that he finds himself embedded in the ground. "Don't make stupid claims like that without thinking, idiot!"
Problems with Nate (as a Character & Player)
If Nate wants to make his character all strong, I have no problem with that. So long as he doesn't eclipse the other members of the group, he can still be our power hitter. My problems with him have never changed.
>His actions are made without consideration for the other players posts AND at the same time the other characters well-being.
>His... What was it Xanatos called it? Mary Sue? Personality trait where Shota can cause him intense physical pain but Nate says NOTHING about pain or damage that was caused as if he's immune and then *smiles softly* (which is the common reference to a pain in the ass that thinks it makes them a hero) and goes onto a long paragraph sentence like the one I'm making now to get a point across.
Player Solutions.
1. So long as Nate, as a player, takes into consideration that there are other people here and doesn't go onto long posts that can mess up someone else' ability to post (like saying that suddenly, 2 hours passed, the first problem is tolerable. It can be seen as a character flaw how he rushes off. Shota will hate him for it, but I as a player will have no issue. Because then, you can blame it on the character and not the player.
2. If he wants to smile and be irritating like that, Shota will hate him but again, I can tolerate it. However, Nate you WILL HAVE TO LEARN to start posting the additional information from the interaction MORE then your little "reply".
If Shota punches him in the face and sends him into the wall. Instead of replying about how he smiled and said some stupid mushy stuff that took an hour to say... First mention the fact that he just got punched INTO A WALL. Mention that he might be in pain, mention what damage might have been caused. Do that first. That's the IMPORTANT part. That's the interaction between characters. If you still want to smile, that's fine. It happens. I support it because it varies our characters personalities. But then afterward, don't go on for a 20 minute long sentence about something pointless.
Oh, and about my last post.
Nate started talking about a lot of stuff... that had no importance to any of us... or was never even brought up. Annie never asked "Hey Nate, what's with that pendant?" or Shota never asked "God, if you're like this I have to ask. What's the rest of your family like?" And because of that-- Shota (not me, I have no problem with it) see's him as a whining brat who wants attention for his poor poor sad pathetic problems.

A Look into the Mind of Shota.
Donny = A competent fisherman and ally. Someone who she can work easily with.
Annie = A cute girl who she finds herself drawn toward.
Nate = The biggest pain in this world. Currently, she hates him more then Dominus.
Avon = A curious boy who might prove himself useful.
Faust = A flirt who she does not know if she can trust.

The New Plan (#2)
Hopefully, everyone will wake up. I'm trying to keep Shota out of the leader seat but it feels like I'm being pulled into it. Either way, here's the plan. Shota remembered about how Annie seemed to know where this cabin is and knows much about it. This tells her that Annie knows the forest well enough to navigate it. Shota plans to have Annie lead them out of the forest and then toward the next city. Not wanting to risk the chance that they'll be followed, Shota is planning false clues. A map made of magic will lead those tracking them by magic to it. The map will have them going a different path. While they have Annie lead them out of the forest in one way, their followers will believe that they are going in accordance with the map.
Once getting to the city, they will prepare to part. I plan on stopping this. I want to see if I can get Xanatos' character, Horus, to step into this and some how mess up their day.
What do you guys think? Can we make it that far without any problems?
