Bullshit Fluttershy has stage fright. She performed at Canterlot in the Hearths Warming play and, as someone mentioned, her human self in Equestria Girls sang in a high school cafeteria full of judgmental teenagers and she has a problem singing in front of everypony now? What?
Also, this episode was awesome.

Humanshy is a separate entity from Pony Fluttershy. This is evidenced through out all of EQG as all of the human cast are literally mentally handicapped and terrible friends. Also McCarthy herself said it should only be considered canon if you want it to, and anyone who wants to is stupid.
If that's the case, then what the hell is Flash Sentry doing in Episode 11 still existing and giving Twilight the look? It's not like I want it to be canon but it's just there and honestly, I don't like it either.
Btw, even if you exclude EG, Fluttershy still sang in the play at Canterlot in front of Luna knows how many ponies. She should not still have stage fright.
Also, this episode was awesome.
It is. It so is.

Fluttershy was super nervous about performing in Canterlot, to the point of hiding in a box and refusing to come out. She just kinda had to suck it up.But thats a little different than singing. And she had the rest of the Mane 6 on stage with her to take away attention and nerves.
I'm not saying she went up on stage completely brave. The fact she still went with it at all considering how big the audience was should say something.
Rarity, Big Mac, and the rest of the Ponytones were all gonna be performing with her though so they would've done the same thing.
Personally, I don't see it either. Not the flanderising or that she was 'out of character' in this episode. Pinkie has a history of being oblivious to peoples feelings and being accidentally insensitive. Like how she screamed that Cranky was bald or when she chased Rainbow around despite Rainbow obviously not wanting to hang out with her.
Also, it was funny so whatevs.

How do you flanderize a character who has never been consistent or well-rounded?
Stfu. Yes, Pinkie is random but she is super well-rounded. She's the deepest of the Mane 6. You just have to watch video's like this to see how complex of a character she is.
It's true. Who is her rival in this regard? Rarity? Twilight? Compared to Pinkies co-dependency, self-esteem issues and bipolar personality those two just don't measure up. This is reinforced by the fact that Pinkies problems are never out-right stated in any episode and are more subtly a part of her character than the other characters. Whats Rainbows flaws? Multiple episodes state its ego. What are Pinkie's? She has an extremely low sense of self-worth, which is why its so easy for her to become paranoid that her friends don't like her anymore in Party of One or that Raindow Dash will forget about her in a few days of being away in Wonderbolts Academy, and why she is so obsessed with making other ponies happy instead of herself.* The only way that Pinkie Pie can be happy is if she is making other ponies happy. This is how she can have borderline eidetic memory about everypony else but can forget her own birthday. And its why when she obsesses over making Cranky a friend and why when she feels like shes not making her friends happy she has a psychotic breakdown in Party of One and tries to leave town in Pinkie Pride. Pinkies sense of well being is dependent upon other people, rather than innate in herself. If she isn't making ponies smile, she easily falls into a depression similar to how she was before the Sonic Rainboom. This is on top of her more basic flaws like immaturity, obliviousness and obnoxiousness. All of this is conveyed through her reactions and actions instead of being said out loud. Applejack likes apples.
* I don't believe we've ever seen Pinkie doing something that she likes, outside of the company of others. Other than random gags. She has no hobbies outside of baking and planning parties, unlike every other Mane 6 member.

So what you are saying is that her entire personality is dependent on other characters being there?

Thats not a closing line, its a footnote.
And if you meant what I think you did, those two things just reinforce my point. Baking is Pinkies job, not a hobby and Parties are things she does to make ponies smile. She doesn't have a hobby that she does for her own pleasure, other than finding joy in giving joy to others.
