That's probably Link's model for the beginning of the game, like in WW and TP.

but he fought a boss. you can't fight stuff without the hat. that's the source of link's power. I don't think i'm ok with this.

Boss? That was a standard overworld enemy. At least what Aonuma said seems to strongly imply so.

but it's big. Also where's his sword? I can't watch the trailer. I can only see the screen-caps from where I'm at. It's just so....new.

I was under the impression that they simply did not want to show Link's hero tunic off yet, that it's probably like in TP where he spends some time as an unrefined hero, hence lacking a tunic, hat, sword or shield.

..that, or we give in the the "it's actually Zelda" faux rumours.

It is that, really nice looking too. All those screencaps are from inside the game engine, that's what gameplay will look like. The overworld is supposed to be massive and much more open than the 3d games have been up until now. I'm hyped, naturally.

You could try characters from Kill La Kill, currently a lot of people waifu KLK characters so it'll draw responses.

Pit from Kid Icarus needs more attention, too.

The trick is probably to pick out popular characters from multiple sections of the forum to draw their supporters in.

Some of those might be fairly mismatched but it might spark discussion at least.
