I can see Hellboy taking quite the beating from Goro but with enough punches to the face with his stone hand, Hellboy might knock him out.

They just live in world were magic and shit is possible, superhumans exist. I doubt there's a reason beyond that, and does there really need to be?

If you train hard enough you become figuratively made of iron. If you train hard enough in the right fighting style, you get magic powers too.

Hellboy has some crazy durability feat, and a gun is still part of his standard equipment, right?

Don't see why Hellboy just can't shoot Goro in the face.

It's true. Kazenji didn't specify whether or not Hellboy has his guns but if he does, it's spite unless Goro can block any projectile like Motaro but since he doesn't, it can only be assumed the fight's strictly H2H which would still go into Hellboy's favor since he's fought foes bigger than Goro when relying just on his stone fist.

Might go with no guns for Hellboy.
