AoD Thanos power came directly the abstract Death itself stated on panel. She wanted him to kill things and her power easily dwarfs team 2s with ease so they die.

Stop using the faulty high low trick to sell a character
We all know characters don't always perform at their highest every time we seen them fight someone
Gladiator don't always punch with planet destroying punches in comics
Surfer doesn't always blast with planet destroying blasts
Hulk doesn't operate in the billions of tons range a lot of the time
She Hulk beating Champion doesn't help his case either
Yet Drax with PG didn't one shot all other herald level beings with his blows
Blasts and physical hits aren't the same thing son. Thanos is highly durable to blasts but not so much to high herald level physical strikes.
AOD Thanos we still need feats, we don't know how much power Death gave thanos. Obvious he wasn't = death in power so she gave him a limited amount.
IMO, Thanos in TI had the power to keep dead, but he still needed his power to first make dead.
