He doesn't do it just that way. He has standard telepathy; and has even gone toe to toe with alien artificial intelligence before.

The fish part of the brain was a nice explanation, but it's one method rather than his only method.

Yes, but the reason they failed was the enchantment that prevents him from being significantly hurt/killed by anything that is not metal not made by human/mortal hands.
